Canvas: Troubleshooting Tips for Recording Media
Please follow these steps if you are having trouble recording a video in Canvas.
If you get a message that Flash is required when you click on Record / Upload Media. You will need to click Allow Adobe Flash Player.To avoid this error message, click on the lock icon next to the URL, click on Site Settings
In Site Settings, for Camera and Microphone select Allow
If problems continue, clear the browser cache and cookies.
Go to Chrome preferences-> scroll down to the bottom of the page, click Advanced-> under Privacy and Security-> click on Clear Browsing Data-> Clear Data. Quit Chrome browser and log back into Google account and Canvas.
4. Restart your laptop. When you reopen Chrome, do NOT reopen all your tabs. Minimize your tabs; the more tabs you have open, the slower each page loads.
5. If all the above fails, try opening Canvas in an alternate browser such as Safari.
